WHILE THE MOON WATCHES OVER<\/h4>\n

British artist\u00a0Stephen Mackey\u00a0portrays whimsical scenes in\u00a0his 17th and 19th century\u00a0inspired oil paintings. In fantasy\u00a0settings reminiscent of the past, Mackey paints\u00a0kittens posed for upper class portraits, skeletons wooing young brides, and animals hosting\u00a0Mad Hatter<\/em> tea parties, while the moon watches over, smiling with her perfect cupid\u2019s bow and rouged blush of a 1920s film star. Mackey\u2019s well-mannered subjects are rendered with such realistic detail and atmosphere, that it is as if he painted them from life and not his imagination. He has said that he paints with the goal of creating something that looks like he found it, rather than executed.<\/h5>\n
