THE FLYING FIGURES OF REBEKA ELIZEGI<\/h4>\n

The handcrafted works of Rebeka Elizegi, a collage artist based in Barcelona, Spain, come in varying sizes and scopes. The artist says that she\u2019s often fascinated by what the observer interprets from her surreal works, with much of the visuals intentionally garnering differing takes. \u201cI have\u00a0<\/span>dedicated<\/span>\u00a0many years\u00a0<\/span>to working with<\/span>\u00a0this technique<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>A<\/span>fter a period of experimentation with\u00a0<\/span>large format<\/span>\u00a0digital collage, I am currently working manually: I\u00a0<\/span>have\u00a0<\/span>returned to scissors, glue, and the exploration of various materials.\u00a0<\/span>At the moment<\/span>\u00a0I'm working in small, medium and large format, but always applying\u00a0<\/span>handmade collage techniques<\/span>. <\/span><\/i>I like to combine thumbnails and large pieces in the same space, thereby creating a universe of \u2018flying\u2019 figures out of paper and cardboard.<\/em>\u201d<\/h5>\n
