REALITY AND FANTASY

Luis Enrique Toledo del Rio was born in Santa Clara, Cuba. Toledo del Rio considers his creations a form of magical realism, evoking dreams, fantasy and magic through the use of color, light, shadow and space. Toledo del Rio achieves, “...dreamlike atmospheres where reality and fantasy intertwine to show a different world.”
Son of a painter and an actress in children's theatre, and grandson of an award winning poetess, Toledo del Rio works literary themes into his titles and draws from the imagery of the theatre; his artistic heritage is reflected clearly in his work.
